(KOA MARU No. 2 Plan – Peter Cundall Collection)
This class consists of KOA MARU only, completed in ‘41 for Koa Kisen K.K. She was requisitioned in Mar ‘42 by the IJN and converted to an auxiliary anti-submarine netlayer in May ’42 and renamed KOA MARU No. 2 GO that same month. In Nov ’44, she was bombed by USN carrier based aircraft, N Cape Matuko, Batangas, Philippines, beached off Mabacong coast, Philippines and deemed irreparable.
